Quality investment, inspection policy, and pricing decisions in a decentralized supply chain

چکیده
This paper studies the interaction between two key quality management decisions—input conformance and inspection policy—and related wholesale retail prices in a echelon supply chain. Market demand depends on price as well end-product quality, which itself input scheme. Consistent with previous empirical findings literature, we show that an increase does not always result higher for consumers due to cost-lowering effect of better quality. We also lower may still because how it might incentivize more and/or inspection. Any policy becomes pronounced decentralized system incentive asymmetry channel partners. makes adoption full-inspection likely there compared integrated system. Indeed, while vertical competition decentralization results customers, can end products. Another interesting finding setting is that, somewhat counterintuitively, player indeed opt bear share penalty defective products sold resulting profits player.

Pricing decisions in a two-echelon decentralized supply chain using bi-level programming approach
Pricing is one of the major aspects of decision making in supply chain. In the previous works mostly a centralized environment is considered indicating the retailers cannot independently apply their decisions on the pricing strategy. Although in a two-echelon decentralized environment it may be possible that supply chain contributors have encountered with different market power situations which...
متن کاملPricing and Remanufacturing Decisions of a Decentralized Fuzzy Supply Chain
The optimal pricing and remanufacturing decisions problem of a fuzzy closed-loop supply chain is considered in this paper. Particularly, there is one manufacturer who has incorporated a remanufacturing process for used products into her original production system, so that she can manufacture a new product directly from raw materials or from collected used products. The manufacturer then sells t...
متن کاملPricing and Advertising Decisions in a Three-level Supply Chain with Nash, Stackelberg and Cooperative Games
Pricing and advertising are two important marketing strategies in the supply chain management which lead to customer demand’s increase and therefore higher profit for members of supply chains. This paper considers advertising, and pricing decisions simultaneously for a three-level supply chain with one supplier, one manufacturer and one retailer. The amount of market demand is influenced ...
متن کاملCoordination of Pricing, Ordering, and Lead time Decisions in a Manufacturing Supply Chain
In this paper, an incentive policy is proposed to coordinate ordering, lead time, and pricing strategies in a two-echelon manufacturing supply chain (SC) consisting of one manufacturer and one retailer. The system is faced with a stochastic demand which depends on both price and lead time. The manufacturer decides on production size and manufacturing acceleration rate while the retailer determi...

This paper incorporates remanufacturing decisions with pricing and supplier and component selection decisions in a multi-level green supply chain with multiple suppliers, one single manufacturer and multiple retailers. The manufacturer purchases optional components of a certain functionality from his alternative suppliers or remanufacture from recycled components and customizes a set of platfor...
